George's Tailoring and Formal Wear “ \n \nI wouldn't be writing this review if it wasn't for an absurd experience with this man and his daughter. \nI was initially referred to him to have a dinner jacket altered. He did a decent enough job although the simple alterations were overpriced at 125$ to hem a pair of pants and take in a jacket at the back. \n The other day I went to visit a store adjacent to his store and attempted to walk thru his store to get to the front of the other. As I entered the back door from the parking lot; a working entrance, I saw him and said, very politely, Hello, I am a customer, but this time I'm merely passing through to go to another store--i hope thats ok I had a sealed Robek's juice container in my hand. \nGeorge made a big scene pointing out the wedding dresses on the rack and behaving in a truly hostile and surprisingly rude manner. I guess he thought I'd spill my container on the dresses, hanging coated in plastic, as I passed -- that, and of course, I had no business walking thru his store to get to the front of the other store, regardless of my being a past customer of his. After he ranted on I was stunned and asked him if he was joking. He not only said he wasn't joking, he said he didn't care that I was a customer. At this point his daughter chirped in with a 'It's really rude, dude. \n Look, its his store, he can do what he wants, right? I had a drink, I wasn't shopping in his dingy little place -- he's perfectly within his rights. But, the condescending tone and abrasive manner to someone who made it clear was a past customer was rather surprising. \n I can only assume I'm person #1500 who's done this because his behavior was grossly out of proportion to the circumstances. \nHe's certainly lost my business but I was quite pleased I didn't lose my temper. \n I can't explain to you how disturbing this was. It took a lot of restraint to not react. Even if you feel what he was saying was appropriate, trust me when I say that his manner, tone and conduct was insulting, inappropriate and shocking. The nerve and gall of this odd little man, Avoid this man. Avoid his business. \n I plan on complaining to the business that referred me; hopefully that may have some effect. \n The truth is, his past tailoring for me has been perfectly adeuquate, but this kind of arrogant, Napoleonic behavior to someone who makes it clear is a past customer is beyond reproach. \n I can only assume that he has some extraordinarily large ego totally out of proportion to his dank little storefront.”

Park Avenue Cleaners “DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANER - CLOTHES ARE DAMAGED, AND THE PROPRIETOR ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY. Last month I brought 4 articles of clothing (1 dress, 1 top, and a man's suit coat and pants) to PARK AVENUE CLEANERS on Stanley Blvd. in Livermore. At drop off, a small stain on the suit coat lapel was pointed out to the clerk, which he tagged as needing special treatment. When I returned the following week to pick up the items, there was no indication of a problem with my clothing. Upon hanging the clothes at home, it was apparent that the “stain†treatment it received from PARK AVENUE CLEANERS caused the coat to be returned to me with the fabric rubbed so harshly, that the coat lapel now had a visible hole. When I returned the suit coat for some explanation or compensation of the ruined suit coat, I was informed (quite rudely) that PARK AVENUE CLEANERS could not have possibly caused the hole, as they only use steam to clean their clothing. I just wanted to let other consumers know of this situation and to possibly prevent damage to their clothing. I highly recommend consumers to NOT USE PARK AVENUE CLEANERS, as there are many other more reputable and courteous dry cleaners in the Tri-Valley area that are much more deserving of your business. Thank you.”
